Rambling Mummy Loves

As you you will probably notice this weeks Rambling Mummy Loves post is different to usual. I've decided to keep the weekly post but instead of reviewing 3 products, I will be rambling about the things I couldn't live without this past week.

Silicone 360 shockproof Iphone case
I have had loads of orders for my personalised keepsakes this week so I have spent a hell of a lot of time painting. In the process, my phone has taken a battering. Fortunately I invested in a silicone 360 shockproof case and it has been amazing. It's wipe clean surface means I have been able to clean all of the paint of it with ease and the shockproof aspect has really been useful for the amount of times I've knocked it off the table!

Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Exfoliating Scrub
I'm really trying hard to make an effort with my skin and it's really starting to pay off. Other than drinking litres of water a day I've started using my Nivea wash as part of my daily face care routine and it has made a huge difference. My skin is softer, brighter and has considerably less blemishes.

Ultra Fine Black Sharpie
This has literally been my best friend this week. From my bullet journal to shopping list, personalised keepsakes to signing the kids diaries, this pen has been practically attached. It doesn't smudge, doesn't bleed and writes on pretty much anything. Who doesn't love a Sharpie?

What have been your must haves this week?

Rambling Mummy Loves...Scented Candles

Christmas is over, all the naughty food is out of the cupboard but it's still freezing cold outside and it's still pitch black by 6pm. I find myself in a desperate hurry in the evenings to get dinner and dishes out of the way, throw on some pjs and fluffy slippers and light some candles.
Along with the warmth and lovely glow, I love the scent that a beautifully fragranced candle gives off.
Here are my top 3 candles that currently grace my hallway, bedroom and lounge.

£23.99
Any self respecting candle lover will admit having a Yankee or two around the house, car, office etc and I am no exception to the rule. Currently gracing the side in my lounge is this beautiful fresh cut roses scented jar candle. In a practical and pretty large glass jar, the smell is exactly what is promised; the gorgeous smell of fresh flowers.

£5.50
This candle and pretty much everything else in this shop is absolutely amazing. Created and hand poured by the owner of the shop, Maryann every single candle in this shop smells like what it says. I've had a few different scented ones over time but this gingerbread men scented candle is absolutely amazing and in a contemporary tin to boot! Providing you can resist the temptation to try and eat this one, it would be a welcome addition to any room.

£10.00
The relaxing scent of lavender and zesty lime are combined for a twist on a classic fragrance. This candle comes in a pretty lidded glass jar, it will make a wonderful addition to any home or a welcome gift to candle loving receipient.

What are some of your favourite scented candles?

Rambling Mummy Loves....Slow Cookers

In this fast paced world time has unfortunately become one of our most precious luxuries. Whether it's, family life, work, education etc we seem to be trying to cram so much in to our waking day that we merely exist instead of actually living. As a mum of 4 time is extremely valuable so anything that can free up some of it has to be a bonus right??
After months of people raving about slow cookers, I finally bit the bullet and bought one and do you know what I haven't looked back once. So this weeks rambling mummy loves is all about one of the smallest and most cost efficient kitchen appliances...the slow cooker.

Slow cookers are a convenient and easy way to make a meal. Some boast 'amazing' features such as a bowl that can be used on the hob. Expensive models often have digital controls, more timer options and even have an auto stir function but like anything, all you need is something that does the job you need it to.

£32.46
I have had many a tasty meal straight from my mums slow cooker before. Whether she is cooking for just her and my dad or is preparing for a visit from me and my brood her slow cooker always has the capacity to cope. With its easy to clean bowl, simple timer and pretty cleanline design, you'd have no issues with this sitting atop your work surface.

£14.99
Before rushing out to buy a pricey slow cooker I thought it best to start simple and get a basic one which meant if I didn't get on with it I hadn't broken the back. I did some quick research and reserved myself this little bad boy from Argos.
Value for money and basic, I thought even this slow cooker virgin could handle this one.
Whilst it's not the biggest of slow cookers, it was able to cook most meals for my family of six with its simple hi and lo and fab keep warm features. Although a great product, I'm not sure of this would have stood the time of daily usage for 6 in our household but nonetheless a great product for a great price.

£40
Once we realised that this would actually be a good investment we did(and by we I mean me because let's face it, nobody else in this house cooks!) a bit more research and finally settled on this as the new addition to our family. At 6.5 litres capacity we certainly don't struggle to fit meals into it. The toughened glass lid is great for checking on our food without having to remove it and the removable ceramic bowl is great to use as a serving dish. There are 3 heat settings which are easy to choose from using the dial. At the moment I've only had chance to use this for functional family meals, however, I have a huge list of fun recipes compiled that I can't wait to try out.

If you have a slow cooker or plan on buying one, let me know how you get on with it.

Rambling Mummy Loves

If like me you are celebrating the sun in your gorgeous summer sandals then its only right that you have a gorgeous pedicure to match.
Between having my professional pedicures in the shop I have been trying my hardest to maintain that silky soft look and feel.
Here are my top 3 foot care products, guaranteed to have your fabulous feet in tip top condition.

I absolutely love this stuff. After a soak I love to give my feet a good scrub with this scrub. Whilst it has a strong smell of peppermint the scrub itself has a fabulously firm texture which gets rid of any dead or dry skin.

Now we all know that Shea butter is great for the skin but this foot cream is absolutely amazing!
While its not one of the cheapest creams around it is one of the creams that does actually work. Definitely worth treating yourself to!

Now you can't make such a big fuss of having beautifully soft feet without an amazing
Nail colour. Max Factor's gorgeous bright orange nail colour is sure to be a hit this summer and just £3.99 at Superdrugs.

No excuses, let's get our feet fit for summer!

Rambling Mummy Loves...

Like a lot of people up and down the country, I like to freshen up the house with a lick of paint and some new accessories before the festive season descends upon us.
Despite my fiances best attempts to keep me away from a paint brush I have already mapped out some of my projects for the house this Autumn and spent a lot of time searching for the perfect accessories.
This weeks Rambling Mummy Loves... features some gorgeous household finds.

As we have just purchased a new sofa I couldn't help but search for some new cushions to lavish the sofa with. After searching high and low for something that suited the colour scheme of the lounge and that would be a good fit with the new sofa, I found the perfect cushions in quite an unlikely place.
I discovered these in Wilkinsons of all places and at just £6 each or two for £8.00 there is no reason why you can't buy a few of these, which is exactly what I did...in various shades of green and beige.

As it is getting darker, earlier and we don't have much natural light in our hallway a great way to reflect the light we do have is by using mirrors. We currently have one in our hallway but I am on the lookout for something 'slightly' larger. I'm yet to find one that will work in our hallway but I've found some beautiful ones so far.

This grand renaissance mirror would look fab over a mantle piece and add a touch of decadence to any home. If, unlike me, you have a mantle piece and fancy adorning your home with this beautiful mirror then grab yours now from Dunelm Mill.

Keep those nasty breezes and chills out of your bedroom with some gorgeous curtains. In most rooms in my house we have both curtains and blinds, but I love the cosy, luxurious look and feel of thick lined curtains in the autumn and winter months and they are sure to keep the chills out.

You'll be sure to have sweet dreams with these at your window. These ready made blackout curtains available at Terry's Fabrics are a fab choice to keep the light out for those lazy weekend lie ins but will keep the warmth in.

Do you have plans to jazz up your property before the festive season? I'd love to see your finished projects.

Rambling Mummy Loves...

As the weather has taken a turn and not for the better, my thoughts have turned to the cosy winter nights spent snuggled up in the house and the opportunity to dress for the weather in chunky knit jumpers and funky welly boots.
So this weeks Rambling Mummy Loves... is focusing on preparing for whatever this season brings.

One of my all time favourite autumn/winter activities is jumping in puddles and kicking up piles of leaves with this kids. Any self respecting puddle jumper needs some funky, trendy wellies to do the job properly and you need look no further than Funky Wellington Boots
With some amazing designs to choose from your bound to find something to tempt you into those muddy puddles.
These are my absolute favourite. For me you just can't beat a pair of polka dot wellies and let's face it, who wouldn't want to be playful in these.

Who could possibly resist wanting to snuggle up on the sofa with a marshmallow topped hot chocolate wearing this gorgeously soft dressing gown.

Available from Matalan and at just £16.00 this one is definitely something you can treat yourself to!

Set the mood with this gorgeous tealight holder from Not on the High Street.

Whether romantic and sensual or warm and cosy this wooden log tealight from The Wedding of my Dreams is sure to aid and assist your plans to unwind.

Whatever your plans for this weekend or indeed this season make it fabulous.
